How does the dental implant process work?
If you lose a tooth, you need to replace it as soon as possible. Dental implants are an excellent tooth replacement solution and have helped millions of people enjoy the confidence of a whole and healthy smile.
The first step in the process is a consultation with Dr. Kai so he can evaluate your dental health and see if an implant is the right solution for you. The determining factor is the density of bone in the area where the implant will be placed. In general, anyone who is healthy enough to have a tooth extracted is a candidate for a dental implant.
Before we begin the procedure, we will make sure that the area being treated is completely numb. Next, Dr. Kai expertly places the implant in your jaw. The procedure takes a little over an hour, and most patients report little discomfort during or after.
The implant is left to heal for several months, during which time it bonds securely with surrounding bone and tissue. Once the site has healed completely, we will attach a restoration that acts as the functioning, visible part of your implant.
Since the implant is rooted in your jaw, it should last a lifetime. However, the success of your implant relies on healthy gums, so you must maintain proper oral hygiene and schedule routine checkups and cleaning appointments with us.
