And check out the questions below. These are the ones we hear most often from our dental patients:
What Is SureSmile?
SureSmile is one of the most well-known clear aligner systems in the world and is also considered the most advanced. The technology relies on clear aligners taken from an impression of your smile. The impressions are sent to the SureSmile lab, where your aligners are made of clear, comfortable plastic for discretion and comfort.
SureSmile's innovative design straightens the wearer’s teeth more predictably and comfortably than ever before. With this world-renowned aligner system, you can achieve the smile of your dreams in just a short time. Dr. Kai Liang is a SureSmile-trained dentist who values your comfort, safety, and smile goals. With Dr. Kai’s help, you can achieve optimal oral health, starting with a straightened set of pearly whites.
How Long Does SureSmile Take?
It's difficult to say how long treatment will take until we meet with you to evaluate your needs. In general, though, SureSmile treatment takes up to a year or two for adults; for teens, treatment times are similar to those of traditional orthodontics.
At our Milton, GA area dental office, we start the SureSmile process with a consultation with Dr. Kai Liang. This step is essential because we need to understand your goals to ensure the results meet and exceed your expectations.
Next, Dr. Kai plans your treatment using 3-D imaging to develop a virtual model of your teeth. This model allows him to predict the movement of your teeth throughout treatment. Your aligners will be customized to move your teeth gently into the proper position based on this information.
All these specifications are sent to a SureSmile lab, where your customized aligners are fabricated. When they're ready, we'll have you return to our office and receive your aligners along with instructions for using them.
You'll receive several sets of aligners, and each set is designed to move your teeth sequentially as you progress through treatment. Wear each set 22 hours a day for about two weeks, taking them out to eat, brush, and floss.
Throughout the process, Dr. Kai will monitor your progress until we have reached the desired results. The final step is to wear your retainer daily so your newly aligned teeth don't relapse and undo all your efforts.
