If you have a wedding or a class reunion in the future, you want to look your best, and one way to do that is with professional teeth whitening. You may be wondering if you are a candidate for teeth whitening or if there are limitations in terms of who is eligible. Well, read on to find out.
Teeth Whitening Limitations
Alpharetta Creek Restorative Dentistry offers both in-office and take-home professional teeth whitening services for their patients who qualify. However, if you fall under any of the following categories, we may not recommend teeth whitening services for you:
Multiple restorations – If you have undergone extensive dental restorations such as dental crowns, bonding, or numerous dental fillings, you shouldn’t have your teeth whitened because the active ingredients won’t work.
Gum disease – If you suffer from gum disease, you are not a candidate for teeth whitening.
Children – You should wait until you are at least 16 years old before undergoing teeth whitening because it could cause issues.
Teeth sensitivity – If you have sensitive teeth, you may be ineligible for teeth whitening because sensitivity can increase with treatment.
